DENVER, Jan. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Niobrara Energy Park, a Weld County, Colorado, renewable energy datacenter project that will combine clean fossil fuels, alternative energy, Smart Grid, energy storage, renewable energy research, DC power and cloud computing data centers, was recently awarded the 14th annual global Environmental Business Journal and Climate Change Business Journal Project Merit awards from Environmental Business International (EBI). The awards will be presented at the Environmental Industry Summit in Coronado, California, March 14, 2012. EBI will recognize this and other projects that have achieved exceptional business performance in the environmental industry.

"We're very proud that the Niobrara Energy Park won in both categories for renewable energy development," said Craig Harrison, founder of the data center project. "We believe Niobrara Energy Park is the largest proposed MicroGrid on the planet. We're honored by this recognition of our project as a revolutionary center that has the potential to change how our country generates, stores, distributes and consumes energy."
